General financial aid information

Undergraduate and graduate Sun Devil student-athletes with remaining eligibility who meet applicable NCAA, Big 12 and ASU regulations may be eligible for athletically related financial aid. A student-athlete coach will determine whether any particular student-athlete will be offered aid during the academic year, with approval from the ASU Financial Aid Office. NCAA legislation governs the type and amount of aid that student-athletes may receive.

Free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): Visit the FAFSA website and access the form. All Sun Devil student-athletes should complete the FAFSA to determine if they qualify for other permissible grants or loans. Student-athletes who need help completing the FAFSA should contact the ASU financial aid office to work with a FAFSA counselor. The ASU federal code is 001081.

ASU athletics aid FAQs: Coaches are encouraged to review the FAQ document sent to prospects. This document contains helpful information on scholarships and how they are disbursed.

Western Undergraduate Exchange: Residents of Western states may enroll in the ASU WUE program at a tuition rate of 150% of Arizona base resident tuition. The WUE tip sheet provides more information on the requirements.

ASU academic scholarships: Coaches can access the ASU academic scholarship estimator to help determine scholarship eligibility.

Summer athletics financial aid: Summer athletics aid is separate from the award student-athletes receive during the academic year. Such assistance may be awarded if a student-athlete:

  • Attended ASU for at least one semester during the regular academic year
  • Received athletics aid during that semester or has been awarded athletics aid for the following academic year.

If received, the aid is proportional to what the student-athlete received during the academic year. To be considered for summer athletics aid, student-athletes will complete the summer school online application with their academic coaches in the Office of Student-Athlete Development. Summer athletics aid is not guaranteed.
