Here is a summary of the initial eligibility standards for NCAA Division I college-bound student-athletes to practice, compete, and receive athletics aid during their first year.

Core courses: A college-bound student-athlete must complete at least 10 core courses before the seventh semester of high school. If less than 10 core courses are completed, the student-athlete must serve an academic redshirt year.

GPA: A college-bound student-athlete must earn a core-course GPA of at least 2.300 to be eligible.
