Salute to Service Screening: ‘In Waves and War’

Join The Sidney Poitier New American Film School and the Pat Tillman Veterans Center for a special Salute to Service screening of 'In Waves and War.' The stirring documentary from directors Jon Shenk and Bonnie Cohen follows highly decorated Navy SEAL Marcus Capone, whose struggles with PTSD after returning home from Afghanistan inspire him and his wife Amber to pursue groundbreaking psychedelic therapy that provides hope and healing for suffering veterans. 

A post-screening panel discussion will feature insights from Holly Lisanby, MD, DLFAPA, Dean of the John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering; Shawn Banzhaf, Executive Director of Pat Tillman Veterans Center; and Michael T. Lawton, MD, President and CEO of Barrow Neurological Institute. Moderating the conversation is professor and filmmaker Alex Rivera, MacArthur "Genius Grant" Fellow and founder of Borderlands Cinematic Arts.
