Tempe, Ariz. – Cohlton Schultz captured the 100th win of his storied collegiate career on Senior Day in Sun Devil Wrestling's (4-9, 1-6) 32-6 loss to No. 20 Oklahoma (8-4, 4-4) Sunday afternoon at Mullett Arena. Schultz garnered the achievement in his last match at home in Tempe in front of a rowdy crowd just shy of 2,000.
"It was fun, [my] 100th win," Schultz said post-match. "It's a funny time that it ended up shaking out on Senior Day. Last time I competed in front of this crowd, it was a blast. The match ended up being a little dramatic going into overtime like that, but it was fun and I live for those moments."
The Sun Devils opened the match strong with another victory from the defending champion Richard Figueroa, who won by decision over No. 28 Antonio Lorenzo, 5-2. Figueroa moved to double-digit victories on the season with a 10-1 record after taking down Oklahoma's two-time NCAA Championships qualifier.
After a difficult stretch of bouts for ASU in which the Sooners rattled off eight wins, Schultz sent the fans home happy by taking down No. 25 Juan Mora in a tiebreaker win, 5-2. Schultz is now the 24th Sun Devil to reach the century mark in overall victories in program history.
The Sooners grabbed their first lead of the afternoon in the 133-pound bout, when the Sun Devils opted to forfeit the weight class. Freshman Pierson Manville made his second career start and his first in Tempe, going toe-to-toe with two-time NCAA qualifier in No. 17 Willie McDougald. Manville gave McDougald everything he had before a 4-1 loss in overtime. Shay Addison's three-match win streak came to an end on Sunday after falling to No. 19 DJ Parker.
The Sun Devils head back on the road next week taking on Lehigh (Feb. 21/Bethlehem, PA.) and West Virginia (Feb. 23/Morgantown, WV) to close out the regular season.

Cohlton Schultz
On what he hopes to leave behind to the Sun Devil wrestling community:
"Wins, losses, all that aside, I hope there's one thing I could leave behind is a legacy or great effort. I haven't done everything I wanted to yet, but every day, every opportunity was probably the best effort I possibly could give. And I hope that lives on. I hope that's something that Sun Devil Wrestling carries forever, just great effort."
On what the Sun Devil community means to him:
"It's been huge. It's been five to six years, it's been too long maybe for some. But a lot of people are blessed to be able to wrestle in college for four years and I've been able to do it for six now, so it's been awesome. This crowd, this community, everything. They welcomed me and the love and support you feel every day, it's no joke. It's real. It's just such an awesome opportunity being out here everywhere."
