FUKUOKA, Japan-- Rising junior Léon Marchand has won his second championship at the 2023 World Aquatic Championships, this time in the 200m butterfly with a time of 1:52.43.

After setting a world record in the 400 IM earlier this week, Marchand's time of 1:52.43 is a French record with him breaking his previous record set in Budapest last summer. This is his fifth World Championship medal after winning the silver in this event in 2022. Additionally, he will compete in the finals of the 200 IM tomorrow evening after winning the gold in that event at last year's Worlds.

Here's what fans and reporters around the world had to say following Marchand's dominance so far in Fukuoka.
