TEMPE– Sun Devil Lacrosse continues their four-game home stretch against Mercer on Tuesday, March 4. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. AZT and will be streamed on ESPN+.

Tuesday marks the first meeting between the two programs and is the second of four straight home games for ASU, as the team has played four of their first six games on the road in 2025. The Sun Devils are undefeated at home this season in two games and have outscored their opponents 34-13 in the two wins.

Sun Devil Outlook:
To open the season, ASU tied a program-best 3-0 start, but fell in both competitions against Denver and No. 22 USC following the undefeated start. ASU snapped this two-game skid with a nail-biting win against Saint Joseph's on Saturday.

The Sun Devils have the reigning Big 12 Midfielder of the Week after Bella Ingrao's career-high three goals against DU earned her the honors. She was the third weekly award for ASU this season.

The hot start has ASU leading the Big 12 Conference in a variety of categories: assists per game (7.33), draw controls per game (17.33), save percentage (.496), and points per game (22.17).  In all four categories, the Sun Devils sit at top-20 in NCAA ranks.

Scouting the Opponent:
Mercer's start to the season was a complete 180 in comparison to ASU. The Bears opened the season 0-3 and were outscored 41-22 in their first three games. Their first win of the season came last week after a 20-4 victory against Kennesaw State.

Last season the Bears ended the year 14-6 and saw an NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the Big South Conference Championship. Mercer faced Michigan in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and fell 17-4.

Though they're winless on the road this season, Mercer was 6-2 on the road in 2024.

Sun Devil Notables:

  • Senior goalie Katie Vahle is 32 saves away from tying the program's all time record of 576 set by Berkeley Bonneau.
  • Junior attacker Teagan Ng is nine points away from 100 in her career. She will be the eighth Sun Devil all-time to reach this feat.
  • Bella Ingrao is the reigning Big 12 Midfielder of the Week after recording a career-high three goals against DU last week.
  • Junior attacker Lydia Oldknow rides a 25-game point-scoring streak after four goals on Saturday.
