AZ Family's story on Teagan

PHOENIX– Last week, Arizona State Lacrosse and the community gathered at Pecos Park in Phoenix, Arizona to announce the fulfillment of 9-year-old Teagan's wish alongside Make-A-Wish Arizona. Teagan, who was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, wished to visit Universal Studios and Walt Disney World– and will do just that later this month, the team helped reveal.

The entire Sun Devil lacrosse team and coaching staff showed up and joined a group of Make-A-Wish Arizona volunteers, Teagan's club team, team parents, Sparky, and the Sun Devil Spirit Squad– a group totaling over 100 people. Upon Teagan's arrival, the group huddled up and yelled "wish granted" as Teagan neared the playing field.

"It has been a long battle with Teagan's diagnosis and to have the entire community come together to support her wish is incredible," said Danny, Teagan's dad, and lacrosse coach. "Her wish will give her hope and an opportunity to feel like a kid again."

After revealing that Teagan's wish had been granted, the team stayed around to put on a mini-clinic with Teagan's club team. The group had fun playing sharks and minnows, and got to pass with the Ahwatukee Ladies Lightning team when the chaos had settled down.

Teagan, an avid fan of Harry Potter, knew exactly what her wish would be when asked by her
wish granters. She expressed her excitement, saying, "When I think about my wish, I imagine
going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. I'm so excited to get my
house robes, pick a wand, and ride all the rides at the park!" and Teagan is off to do just that!

Make-A-Wish Arizona is a local non-profit organization with the mission to grant wishes for children battling critical illnesses. This fiscal year, they hope to grant 450 wishes. For more information on how to refer a child wish, visit arizona.wish.org.
