Cullen Potter named to NCHC All-Rookie Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Arizona State freshman center Cullen Potter was one of seven rookies in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference selected to the NCHC All-Rookie Team, the league announced on Tuesday. Potter boasts 13 goals and eight assists for 21 points through 32 games played. 

Potter tallied nine goals in conference play, third among rookies behind Sacha Boisvert (North Dakota) and Austin Burnevik (St. Cloud State).His 13 total goals this season is tied 11th overall among all NCHC skaters. The 18-year-old from Minnesota added six assists in conference play to total 15 points in 22 conference games. His 81 shots on goal led rookies in NCHC action.


"He found his stride, he found his confidence, and we kept telling him, 'You're doing almost everything right, playing hard, and doing the right things. It's going to go in.' And it started going in for him and he's playing his best hockey when we need him to be playing his best hockey and that makes us dangerous," said head coach

He boasted three multigoal games this season, including two in back-to-back key conference matchups against then-No. 3 Western Michigan and at Omaha. 


In conference play, he never went more than three games without tallying a point and his 44.8 faceoff percentage ranks sixth among NCHC freshmen with a minimum 100 attempts. 


Potter is eligbile for the the 2025 NHL Entry Draft and ranks in the top-25 of North American skaters according to the NHL Draft Prospects Rankings.
