Charlie Ragle to be honored by the NFF Valley of the Sun Chapter

Charlie Ragle was named one of the distinguished Arizona winners by the National Football Foundation, Valley of the Sun Chapter. Well-respected reporter and anchor, Jody Jackson was also awarded with this award. Both will be honored March 8th at the Scholar-Athlete Awards Luncheon at Wild Horse Pass Casino Showroom in Chandler, Arizona.
"When we speak about two people who have poured their lives into the football community of Arizona, Jody and Charlie are certainly deserving of the Distinguished Arizona Award," said NFFAZ President, Bradin Dockall.

Charlie Ragle
Assistant Head Coach/Special Teams Coordinator, Charlie Ragle was awarded the 2024 Frank Kush Lifetime Achievement Award. Ragle transformed Sun Devil Football in a season that allowed the team to create a new identity for themselves-- winning the Big 12 Championship and finishing 11-3 was just the icing on the cake for the team who was picked to finish last in the Big 12 Preseason Polls. This is the first time Charlie Ragle has been awarded with this prestigious award.
The Frank Kush Lifetime Achievement Award honors an Arizonan's enduring commitment to coaching and their exceptional service to amateur football. This prestigious award celebrates the principles embodied by Hall of Fame Coach Frank Kush, including dedication, discipline, teamwork, preparation, and perseverance—values that shape the future success of youth. The recipient is widely respected by peers and admired by the communities they have served.
Jody Jackson
Well-respected reporter and anchor, Jody Jackson was named the 2024 National Sports Media Association Arizona Sportscaster of the Year. This is the second time Jody Jackson has been awarded with this accolade, the other being in 2022.
The National Sports Media Association, Inc. (NSMA) is an organization of nearly 1,000 members that honors excellence in our industry, while passing along our knowledge and history through the generations.
Each year, NSMA members in each state (49 States, plus the District of Columbia) elect a State Sportscaster of the Year and State Sportswriter of the Year, a National Sportscaster of the Year and National Sportswriter of the Year, and our Hall of Fame inductees. Those winners are honored each June in Winston-Salem, NC at an awards weekend, which also features events that foster networking and education.
