The Maui Invitational announced that Sun Devil Men's Basketball will be a part of the highly competitive 2025 field.

To be played at the historic Lahaina Civic Center Nov. 24-26, 2025, the 42nd annual tournament will feature eight premier college basketball programs. Arizona State will be joined in a highly talented field that also includes North Carolina State, Seton Hall, Texas, UNLV, USC, Washinton State and host Chaminade.

Led by Head Coach and 1992 Maui Invitational co-MVP, Bobby Hurley, the Sun Devils have compiled a 155-131 record during his tenure, including three trips to the NCAA Tournament. Coach Hurley will be the third head coach to lead a team in Maui after winning the Tournament's MVP honors during their playing career (Hardaway/Wojciechowski).

The 2025 Maui Invitational will mark Arizona State's 6th appearance in the tournament (1991, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2007), compiling a 9-6 record during those visits, including winning the 1994 Maui Invitational with Bill Frieder as head coach in which standout power forward Mario Bennett received tournament MVP honors. During their most recent visit to Maui in 2007, NBA star James Harden led the Sun Devils to a 2-1 record where the freshman guard averaged 17 points/game.

"We are excited to welcome Arizona State and Washington State to the 2025 Maui Invitational, rounding out another very competitive field," said KemperSports LIVE Executive Vice President and Managing Director Tom Valdiserri.

Travel packages for the 2025 tournament will be available in early 2025 with single game tickets available at a later date.

By securing a spot in the Maui Invitational, it is clear that Head Coach Bobby Hurley's philosophy of scheduling extremely tough in the non-conference will not change next year. In 2024, Arizona State faces one of the toughest slates in the nation, including several premier non-conference matchups.

About the Maui Invitational
In December 1982, then No. 1 ranked Virginia, led by National College Player of the Year Ralph Sampson, played little-known NAIA Chaminade University in Honolulu while on the way back from a trip to Tokyo. The Silverswords stunned Virginia 77-72 in one of the greatest upsets in college basketball history. Two years later, in 1984, Chaminade University hosted the first Maui Invitational and it has proven to be the premier early-season college basketball tournament for 40 years running. Each year, the Maui Invitational attracts the top programs, best-known coaches and most outstanding players to compete in an exciting atmosphere at the Lahaina Civic Center near the beautiful beaches of Maui.
