12 swimmers to represent Sun Devil women at NCAA Championships Beginning Wednesday

TEMPE – A dozen swimmers representing Arizona State will compete this week at the NCAA Women's Swim and Dive Championships (March 19-22) at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Washington.
The full schedule of events is listed below with the 12 Sun Devils. The championships will be streamed on ESPN+. Prelims to qualify for finals will occur at 10 a.m. AZT beginning on Thursday with finals beginning at 6 p.m each night.

PARTICIPANTS:
Iza Adame, Caroline Bentz, Charli Brown, Deniz Ertan, Erin Milligan, Alexa Reyna, Julia Ullmann, Sonia Vaishnani, Miriam Sheehan, Elli Straume, Grace Lindberg, Emma Gehlert.
Bentz will swim in three individual events, the 50 free, 100 back and the 200 back at the NCAA Championships. Adame will swim in the 100 breast, Brown will partake in the 400 IM, where she holds the school record. Ertan will race in the 1650 free for the second consecutive year. Milligan will compete in the 200 free and Reyna will swim in the 500 free and the 1650 free. Freshman Julia Ullmann will compete in the 100 fly and Sonia Vaishnani will compete in the 400 IM with Brown. Sheehan, Straume, Lindberg, and Gehlert will swim in the relay events along with the eight other Sun Devils.
The Sun Devils hold the most selections among Big 12 schools in individual events with eight and are sending four more Sun Devils compared to 2024.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Sun Devil women secured the Big 12 championship in their first year competing in the conference. It's the first conference championship in program history for the women's team under first-year head coach Herbie Behm.
Caroline Bentz secured women's swimmer of the meet honors winning three individual crowns and helping win three relays in Federal Way three weeks ago. She broke her own school records in the 50 free, 100 back and the 200 back.
Julia Ullmann won the 100 fly in 51.40, setting a school record and Erin Milligan won the 200 free and Ertan won the 200 fly.
In the relays, the women kicked off Big 12 Championships with a school record in the 200 medley relay, a record which they have broken several times this season winning in 1:35.63. In the 400 medley relay, the team also set a school record in 3:20.09 garnering a conference title in the event. In the 800 free relay, Milligan, Brown, Lindberg and Reyna brought home the title in 7:04.24.
In the 400 free relay, Bentz, Milligan, Ullmann and Brown closed out the Big 12 Championships with a victory in 3:13.64 putting a stamp on the team's first conference title for the program.
